but something about valentine's day makes me warm and fuzzy. not in the "fancy dinner, box of chocolates and jewelry" sort of way, but in the subtle "i love you and want you to know that" way.
i love sending valentine's day cards. valentine's day was my favorite day back in my elementary school years. all of those tiny envelopes, with stickers and candy, all of the pinks and reds - i was in heaven! maybe sending out cute valentines now is my grown-up way of revisiting those times.
but i refuse to buy hallmark cards (stickin it to the man?)
normally i will make my own, but I found these for this year and I hastily made them mine:
how lovely!? a bit homemade with the fill-in-the-blank, but much more polished than my homemade attempts. and, made by a fellow columbus resident! yay for supporting local arts!
and for the grown-up version on the valentine's day treats? i present to you my latest baking "need"
alas, they are sold out. i will stalk until i find a popback (
erinn, are you listening?). i need this. seriously. i already have dreams of making libby's homemade cookies and imprinting them with "good girl." please williams-sonoma gods, smile upon me!
and lastly, a romantic little photo. i don't remember where i found it, and that makes me sad because i'd love to have a print of it hanging on my wall
-xoxo
